TÜV SÜD structure
TÜV SÜD AG has pooled its operating activities in three strategic business segments, INDUSTRY, MOBILITY and PEOPLE, allowing the group of companies to respond rapidly to market requirements and offer customized interdisciplinary solutions.
The INDUSTRY business segment (TÜV SÜD Industry Services, TÜV SÜD Chemical Services and TÜV SÜD Product Services) comprises all services associated with industrial plants and installations, machinery, real estate and products. Its specific range of services extends from integral plant support to real-estate appraisal and the testing of commercial, household, leisure and sports products.
Automotive and rail services were bundled in the MOBILITY business segment (TÜV SÜD Auto Services, TÜV SÜD Automotive and TÜV SÜD Rail). Services in this business segment range from classical roadworthiness test and exhaust inspection to international homologation services for new vehicle types and the development of rail concepts on behalf of governments.
The PEOPLE business segment (TÜV SÜD Management Services, TÜV SÜD Academy and TÜV SÜD Life Services) accommodates TÜV SÜD products targeted at education, work, medicine and psychology. In this business segment, services extend from quality management system certification to support in occupational health and safety issues, and education and training on management and technology-related subjects.
Industry specialization continues within these business segments. TÜV SÜD Automotive, for example, is a recognized partner of the automotive industry, while TÜV SÜD Rail has specialized in rail transport. The TÜV SÜD regions ASIA and AMERICAS operate largely autonomously of the European business segments, to cater to national characteristics more effectively.
The Munich-based technical service organization is organized as a stock corporation. TÜV SÜD AG acts as management holding company for the TÜV SÜD member companies. The sole TÜV SÜD shareholder is TÜV SÜD e.V.
