Agreement on detailed rules governing the implementation of the Kyoto Treaty at the global climate summit in Marrakech and New Delhi paved the way for ratification of the above Treaty.
Emissions rights allocated within the system can be freely traded without any restrictions as to quantity.
Climate-change projects in developing countries may be initiated and generate emissions credits even retrospectively as of the year 2000.
Since March 2003 the CDM-Executive Board accepts project proposals that are submitted by TÜV SÜD certification body ¡ÈClimate and Energy¡É for the approval cycle. With regards to JI-projects, it is likely that inspection/ determination by an independent third party will be required.
