TÜV SÜD approach for RBIM
TÜV-RoiM is
the methodology for RBIM (Risk Based Inspection and Maintenance),
which enables to
evaluate the priority (urgency) of the inspection and maintenance
for each units and components, and then optimize the inspection and
maintenance plan, as the risk is assessed on a consistent basis.
RBIM is a methodology for determining the risk with the combination
of ¡ÈProbability of failure¡É and ¡ÈConsequence of failure¡É, and then
evaluating and determining the inspection and maintenance methodology
and interval with the level of the determined risk.
TÜV-RoiM integrated internationally recognized RBIM guideline of
API (American Petroleum Institute) 580,581 and guideline from ASME
(The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and confirmed to RIMAP*(Risk
Based Inspection and Maintenance Procedure for European Industries)
TÜV-RoiM is applicable to wide range of industries including oil
refinery, chemical, power, steel and automobile. It can cover full
range of equipment items, such as pressure vessel, pipe, rotating
machine.
*RIMAP is the RBIM development project which is promoted by EU to
create the RBIM Best Practice applicable to a wide range of industries.
TÜV SÜD has taken part in RIMAP as a member of its consortium and
assumed an important role in the development of RIMAP.
