About Us

Smart Card Systems Group started with Mondex Interface Device Testing in 1998 and expanded its business field to the testing of smart cards and devices on behalf of EMVCo, Visa, JCB and MasterCard in accordance with respective requirements. We are the only testing laboratory recognized by EMVCo, Visa, and JCB in Japan and provide our services for the market all over the world as well as Japanese market for more than 10 years.

Our activities are not limited to the testing. With our smart card expertise we participate in standardization activities, such as Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) or Japan IC Card System Application Council (JICSAP). We also are an active member of the NFC Forum(TM) and are now taking action to aim at providing new services for near field communication. Since 2010, TÜV SÜD Japan Smart Card laboratory is accredited by the Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF), a signatory to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), to ISO 17025 for the testing of both contact and contactless terminals according to ISO 7816 and ISO 14443.
