Tokyo, Japan – TÜV SÜD Japan, the local branch of the global certification, inspection testing and auditing company TÜV SÜD, has been accredited by Mastercard for Contactless Reader Level 2 testing as well as EMVCo for C-2.
TÜV SÜD [HS1] Japan now offers debug and Type Approval services for Mastercard Contactless readers as well as EMVCo C-2, in addition to the already existing accreditations from International payment schemes. This accreditation follows closely TÜV SÜD Japan’s qualification of their EMVCo PCD Interoperability test bench, which allow terminal manufacturers a choice regarding their interoperability testing. Indeed contactless readers having done successfully their EMV PCD Interoperability testing as part of their EMV Contactless Level 1 process will benefit from reduced Mastercard Integration and Combination testing requirements. TÜV SÜD Japan’s latest accreditation will ensure streamlined and complete testing solutions in the same laboratory.
“With this accreditation, TÜV SÜD Japan confirms our long-time goal to help our partners with their terminal development and migration on EMV on many levels, especially with Tokyo 2020 Olympics games approaching.” explained Fabien Bocquet, Laboratory manager of TÜV SÜD Japan. “Terminal manufacturers have the opportunity to confirm the full compliance of their product with several major payment schemes, as TÜV SÜD is the only laboratory in Japan providing both Contact and Contactless Level 1 and Level 2 testing for Terminal.”
TÜV SÜD Japan, the first EMVCo accreditation laboratory in the Asia Pacific region, is known for its technical competence with close to 20 years of experience as a testing laboratory in the payment systems market. Working closely with the major manufacturers of the Japanese industry, TÜV SÜD Japan will now be able to provide an even stronger support to this market.
