~ Product safety testing business is transferred to TÜV SÜD Japan Group ~
Tokyo, Japan - TÜV SÜD Japan Ltd. (“TSJ”) and Ohtama Co. Ltd. (“Ohtama”) today announced that their joint venture agreement for TÜV SÜD Ohtama Ltd. (“TSO”) will be terminated on October 1st, 2013. With this termination, TSO’s product safety testing business will be transferred to TÜV SÜD Zacta Ltd. (“TSZ”), a majority-owned subsidiary of TSJ.
As from October 1st, TSO will continue providing EMC testing, EMI testing, certification support service, telcom testing/certification, and noise controlling service.
■ Background of Joint Venture Termination
After more than 10 years of successful business collaboration, TSJ and Ohtama reassessed their own business strategies, and concluded this would be the best and most harmonious solution for both companies. The business transfer process is going smoothly, and the product safety testing service will be continued through TSZ.
■ Providing the better services in respective business areas
For TSO, with its top class track records in EMC testing business, and for TSZ, with strengthened product safety testing business, both companies will work hard to provide better services to our customers in respective business areas.
With this agreement, TSO will change the name of the company, and the announcement will be made separately.
